Group blasts telecommunications coy for encroaching on Eye Centre land

Arewa Youth Movement for Good Governance has lambasted the management of Nigerian telecommunication giants, 9mobile over its encroachment of piece of land belonging to National Eye Center, Kaduna.
The youth condemned the erection of mast on the land owned by National Eye Center without prior notice or approval of the Center.
They gave 9mobile seven days ultimatum beginning from Friday 27 December 2019 to vacate the land or they will mobilize one million man march against 9mobile before taking other legal measures.

Speaking in Kaduna on Wednesday, Coordinator of Arewa Youth Movement for Good Governance, Comrade Ibrahim Ahmadu, said, “the manner which 9mobile erected their mast on National Eye Centre land without permission is unbelievable.
“Youths in Asalama Aleku area behind National Eye Center drew our attention to this illegality, we did our investigation and truly the management of the Centre is not aware, 9mobile don’t even have KASUPDA approval and as I speak to you now, a mast has been erected, and so many construction work ongoing.

“Permit me to use this medium to call on Governor Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai of Kaduna state to rise and protect the Federal Government property in his domain.”

Efforts to reach 9mobile proved abortive as their men at the Kaduna state office on Yakubu Gowon way refused to comment, saying that they are not authorised to speak to the media.
Findings revealed that both National Eye Centre and Kaduna State Urban Property Development Agency (KASUPDA) were not contacted before erecting the mast.
