Group condemns attack on Nasarawa deputy gov

Advocacy for Democracy and good Governance Forum, Doma chapter Thursday, condemned the recent attack on the Nasarawa state deputy governor, Mr Emmanuel Akaabe, by suspected armed robbers.

This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the chairman and secretary, Mr Ibrahim Mohammed Adi and James Osori, and issued to pressmen in Lafia.

“Be it robbery or an orchestrated plan we expressed our dismay on such barbaric action on the number two citizen of the state”

The group also condoled with the families, relatives and friends of those who lost their lives to the incident and prayed God to repose their souls.

The statement emphasized that the 3 policemen and the pilot driver who are on rescue mission to clear the road for the Deputy Governor and other road users to pass during the robbery scene died gallantly.

“Though we have no doubt that, both federal and state governments are doing well in ensuring peace and security in the country, we also called on them to put more efforts and be proactive”

They also called on the attention of the government and contractors handling Abuja- Keffi-Akwanga and Lafia Makurdi express way to hasten up the project so as to curb insecurity on the highway.
