Group condemns Gov Bello, Kogi traditional rulers planned visit to Buhari

A group, Save Kogi Movement has condemned the alleged plan by first class  traditional rulers from Kogi State to present a letter, passing a vote of confidence on the performance of the governor to enable him get  President Muhammadu Buhari support ahead of November 16th governorship election in the state .

Chairman of the group Commodore Folusho Daniels (rtd), State Coordinator Save Kogi Movement, stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Tuesday.

The statement tasked the traditional rulers who ought to be fathers to all, to weigh their actions as they would not be speaking the minds of their people.

He described the proposed visit to President Buhari by the selected first class traditional rulers a function of coercion that is not the minds of the people.

“For a state that is battling myriads of challenges caused by poor leadership in the last three and half years, the traditional rulers who are aware of the sufferings of their citizens, who have had to live a life of penury, would allow themselves to be used.

“More worrisome is that the same traditional rulers have been complaining bitterly over their non-payment of salaries for months by governor Bello’s led administration. This plan is an indication that something has exchange hand because we don’t expect the monarch to allow themselves to be used as touch light and dump later” the statement said.

The statement urged Mr. President to see the visit of the Kogi traditional rulers as another gimmick geared towards painting a bad situation currently experienced in the state.

Commodore Daniels draw the attention of President Muhammadu Buhari to the several speeches and interview granted by HRM. Dr Alhaji Ado Ibrahim, the Ohinoyi of Ebira land, and leader of the delegation that would visit Mr President, to the failure of the governor Yahaya Bello’s administration in the state.

He urged Mr. President to juxtapose the Ohinoyi’s past remarks to the content of his prepared and handed speech, saying it will certainly not be a true reflection of state of things in Kogi State.
