Group expresses concern over neutrality of int’l community

Youths under the umbrella of Nigerian Youth Leaders Assembly (NYLA) Tuesday said it doubts the neutrality of international community ahead of collation of presidential election results.
Speaking with newsmen in Abuja yesterday, the national coordinator of NYLA, Comrade Chilota Onyeama said, “The concern of Nigeria youths is about the neutrality of the international community. For us, it is very important that the international election observers should advice the loser of the elections and Nigerians to ensure there is peace rather than instigate violence.”

Onyeaka called on the international community to respect INEC guidelines and allow the commission to do their job, adding that people should ignore results from the social media to avoid crisis.
He also advised Nigerians to maintain calm and accept the results that comes out from the INEC collation centre.

“We should not listen to international community. The only support we need from them now is how to maintain peace. Nobody should heat up the polity, neither win or lose, we should avoid protest. Any youth that demonstrate because of a bag of rice or money given to him is not doing it for the betterment of Nigeria. We should come together and embrace peace,” Onyeaka said.
