The Concerned Muslim Pilgrims Monitoring Group (CMPMG) has commended Governor Simon Lalong for retaining the Executive Secretary (ES), of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Ustaz Auwal Abdullahi.
The group in a statement Friday, co-issued by its Chairman Auwal Abubakar and Secretary Comrade Abdullahi Auta said the decision was a good step in the right direction.
Governor Lalong had recently dissolved the Chairman and members of the board.
However, the CMPMG, in its statement said; “retaining the incorruptible Executive Secretary of the board, Ustaz Auwal Abdullahi, was a good decision and a great pointer to Lalong’s determination to continue with his rescue mission of the board.”
According to the group, Ustaz Auwal Abdullahi, has within his short period in the board formulated good policies and reforms, that help in not only stemming the rots that hitherto characterised the leadership of the board, but speedily improved the pilgrims welfare.
“It is no longer news that Ustaz, Auwal Abdullahi, has exhibited high level of prudent utilisation of the board resources, refunded millions of Naira to the board coffers from the 2018 hajj operation,” it said.
