Group holds lecture on crisis resolution

Spurred by the need to contain ethnic clashes nationwide, a group, Centre for Democratic Values and Practices (CDVP), recently organised a lecture on it at Pilot School, Gwagwalada, in Gwagwalada area council, to educate young ones on conflict resolution and leadership.
Participants at the gathering included lecturers, students, union leaders and trade unionists.
Leader of the group Mr. Biodun Ogunjobi, explained that the aim of the workshop was to create positive ways in resolving conflict and help young ones learn mediation skills.
Mr. Joseph Sopade, a participant and an official of Transition Initiative (TI), on his impression of the event, said the task ahead “demands the generality of the people,” stressing that dialogue was a veritable instrument in conflict management.
He further said recurring ethnic violence could endanger the country’s nascent democracy.
