An Abuja-based, non-governmental organization, Graduate Foundation (GRAFO), has said it would honour former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, Amb. Dickson Akor, Lift Above Poverty (LAPO), for their youth empowerment efforts in 2017.
Also, to be honoured are: Sen. Ahmed Ogembe, Mohammed Lado, Nigerian Peace Corps, Mr Linus Okorie, Kefiano Autos, Isiaka Abiodun Akinlade, Tony Elemelu Foundation, and others institutions
The event tagged, ‘Jobs Providers Award’, is an annual event organised by the Foundation to appreciate individuals and organisations that are working assiduously towards alleviating the pains of unemployed Nigerian youths.
According to a statement signed by the Founder and President of the Foundation, Mr. Emmanuel Eche-Ofun John, the group stated that the 2017 “People and organisations nominated for the awards are those who have made visible marks in the labour market through their youth-empowerment efforts.
“They made concerted efforts to take thousands of youths out of the labour market in 2017 and so deserve to be honoured.
“The award is to recognise and appreciate them, and also to spur into action those in privileged positions to help our unemployed youths but are doing little or nothing in that regard,” he stated.
