Group promises to assist FG in fight against insecurity

Igboezue International, a social political group has promised to assist the federal government in the fight against insecurity.
The group’s National President, Chief Pius Okoye, stated this in a media briefing on Sunday.

According to Okoye, Igboezue was in touch with other relevant stakeholders within and outside the country on how best the federal could tackle the security challenges bedeviling the country.
He said people of the country would no longer ‘tie’ their hands while insurgency and herdsmen kill more Nigerians for nothing.

The Igbozue boss also advised the federal government  to jettison its proposed RUGA settlement especially in the South East geopolitical zone, saying it should rather be restricted in the north.
“Our experience over the years has shown that Ndigbo cannot co-habitat together in peace with the bloody testy herders nor the gunmen. Besides, Ndigbo has no land for any other thing than agriculture.

“We will resist any attempt by anybody or group of persons to impose RUGA on us. Our stakeholders including traditional rulers, South East Governors, and other socio cultural organizations in the zone must rise up to the defence of our zones,” he stated.
