Group to organise seminar for the disabled in Enugu

A non-governmental organisation, Initiative for the Eradication of Poverty and Empowerment of the Disabled (IFEPED) will on Thursday, June 24, 2021 hold a one-day workshop at Agbani, the headquarters of Nkanu West local government area of Enugu state for the disabled in Enugu east senatorial zone.


The workshop with the theme: “Breaking the barriers in the lives of People Living with Disabilities,” will be chaired by the chairman of Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Enugu state, Hon. Augustine Nnamani.


The president of IFEPED, Mr. Victor Ugwu, said the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in the state, Dr. Ben Nwoye, will be the special guest of honour, while a prominent politician, Chief Evarest Nnaji, aka, Odengene, will be the chief guest of honour.
Ugwu said Pastor Beloved Dan Anike and Barr. Ray Nnaji would be speakers of the day, while the House of Representatives members from Enugu east senatorial zone, Hon. Cornelius Nnaji; Hon. Nnoli Nnaji and Hon. Ofor Chukwuegbo, respectively, will be special guests.

He added that the chairman of Nkanu West local government area will be the presenter.
In the same breadth, other local government area chairmen from the zone, Hon. Emeka Onuze, Enugu North; Hon. Alex Ugwu, Enugu East; Hon. Monday Eneh, Enugu South; Hon. Uchenna Nwobodo, Nkanu East and Hon. Jacob Abonyi, Isi-Uzo, respectively, will co host the event.


The IFEPED president, Ugwu further stated that the Commissioner for Gender Affairs, Prince Peace Nnaji, would be the Mother of the Day, while the Royal Father of the Day would be the traditional ruler of Ihuokpara, Igwe Fidelis Nwatu, Eze Again I of Agabi kingdom.
