A group has urged the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing to immediately revoke the contract for rehabilitation of some roads in Kaduna, Katsina and Zamfara states over slow pace and poor work done.
The group, under the aegis of Equity Alliance, called for the revocation of the rehabilitation contracts for Zaria-Pambegua Road, Zaria- Hunkuyi- Kafur-Gidan Mutum Daya Road, the design and construction of Birnin Gwari- Dan Gulbi Road in Kaduna, Katsina and Zamfara states.
In a letter of complain addressed to the Minister of Works and Housing, chairman of the group, Mr Magaji Baba called the minister’s attention to the said roads alleging that none of the contractors exceeded 10% of the contract since it was awarded over two years ago, aside the substandard job done.
The letter of complaint also stated that the work done so far is substandard and that there was poor mix ratio on the drainage works, while vowing to sue the ministry and contractors if necessary actions are not taken.
