Group warns APC of imminent defeat in Lagos LG polls

The leadership of All progressive Congress( APC) in Lagos state have been warned of imminent defeat to opposition parties in the forthcoming local government elections.

This warning was contained in a statement released by Demoracy Action Group (DAG), a group of concerned APC members.
According to the statement signed by Otunba Wale Ishola, APC risks losing the local government polls if the leadership of the party in the state stuck to its guns of fielding literally imposed candidates for the party at the elections.

” We’re concerned about the complaints of imposition of candidates by leaders of the party, against the wishes of the majority members of the party and the general interests of the public. Investigations on our part, further reveals the anger and disappointment of party loyalists over the ‘hijacked’ primaries recently held across the state.

” In several local government and LCDAs, particularly, Ifelodun LCDA, party members are threatening to go for protest votes, as well as, other anti-party activities that might negatively affect the fortunes of the party at the local government polls.

” Therefore, we are calling on APC national leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to step in and nip this looming election disaster in the bud by calling on APC Lagos State Chairman, Gov. Sanwo-Olu and other leaders of the party in the state to right the wrongs, now.

” We, at Democracy Action Group promises to continue this fight to reinstall sanctity, integrity and the democratic virtues of free and fair elections and responsible representations within APC,” Otunba Ishola stated.
