GSPHDA trains 42 on financial management

Gombe State Primary Health Care Development Agency (GSPHDA) has begun a three day training of 42 health personnel on financial management procurement processes.
Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr. Ahmed Gana, disclosed this while speaking in Kaltungo local government area of the state at the opening ceremony of the programme yesterday.
He said the aim of the training was to equip the participants on financial management and procurement processes, explaining that the 42 participant were selected from the 21 primary health care facilities in Gombe local government area of the state.
Represented by Mrs. Comfort Ndus, Primary Health Care Coordinator of Gombe LGA, DrGana said the programme was newly introduced to equip the participants with the knowledge on how to handle their financial inflow and outfl ow, saying Gombe was selected for the pilot project.
The programme is a World Bank supported project, he said, adding that prior to the training, all of the participants had little or no knowledge of keeping records of finances in their respective health centers.
The secretary also expressed gratitude to the state government for piloting the programme, adding that it would impact positively on the participants and called on government to expand the training to the remaining 10 LGAs in the state.
