Guber defeat: Nobody is behind my travails – Adelabu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the March 9, 2019 election in Oyo state, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Tuesday said he never blamed Governor Abiola Ajimobi or any APC leader for his loss at the governorship election.

Chief Adelabu who stated this in a statement by his spokesperson Dr Bayo Busari and made available to journalists in Ibadan, also denied engaging a Personal Assistant (PA) to Governor Ajimobi , Dayo Iyaniwura in a fisticuffs .

According to the APC governorship candidate, rather than blaming anyone for his loss at election, he was grateful to all leaders and members of the APC that worked tirelessly during his electioneering campaign.

“How can I fight with the governor’s PA who was dedicated to my aspiration from beginning to the end and I knew everyone worked for me and the party during the campaigns? Dayo is my brother and I don’t have issue with him or with the leadership of the party,” he said.

Chief Adelabu however expressed his appreciation to Governor Abiola Ajimobi, the chairman of APC in Oyo state, Chief Akin Oke and the entire party leadership, adding that without them he couldn’t have recorded the feat he achieved in the election.

The APC governorship candidate also lauded all the APC governorship aspirants that stepped down for him during the party’s primary and for standing by the party to ensure the party remained united during the elections.
