Guber: Yobe APC okays Buni, Abba concedes senatorial ticket to Gaidam

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe state, yesterday, resolved the controversies surrounding the governorship and Yobe East Senatorial tickets.
Arising from the APC stakeholders meeting held at the Yobe state Government Lodge in Abuja, a former governor of the state, who is also the incumbent senator representing Yobe East Senatorial District, Bukar Ibrahim, conceded the senatorial ticket to the state Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam.
Also, Ibrahim endorsed the National Secretary of APC, Alhaji Mai-mala Buni, as the governorship candidate of the party for the 2019 elections in the state.
Ibrahim’s endorsement of the duo of Gaidam and Buni, has now put to rest the initial resistance that trailed their candidature.
Addressing journalists at the end of the truce, Ibrahim said, his initial complaints against the choice of Gaidam as his successor at the Senate and Buni as the party’s governorship candidate was because he was not invited to the meeting where the decision was taken.
“As the grandfather of Yobe politics, I have to make sacrifice for the oneness and unity of our party.
This is what I have made today.
At the end of the meeting, it has been agreed that His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam would be the next Senator representing Yobe East Senatorial District.
“By the special grace of God, I will continue to be the grandfather of Yobe politics.
Also, Alhaji Mai-mala Buni has been endorsed as our governorship candidate without rancour and we are all happy,” the former governor said.
In his acceptance speech, the Yobe state Governor, Malam Ibrahim Gaidam, said the former governor had agreed not to contest against him because he had served for three times as a Senator
