Meanwhile, a cleric, Rev. Okwudili Okonkwo and family members were Saturday abducted by gunmen. However, the wife and son were later released.
Narrating how the incident occurred, the wife said the unfortunate incident occurred at Arondizuogu near Okigwe LGA of the state on their way back from a wedding ceremony.
The heavily armed abductors have since announced a ransom of N30 million for the cleric’s release.
When contacted, Imo state Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Orlando Ikeokwu confirmed the incident, saying investigation was ongoing on the abduction and sundry cases in the state.
