Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Tuesday night abducted a village head and his wife in Araromi village, Bakatari area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
It was learnt that the gunmen invaded the village and kidnapped the head , identified as Chief Tara Apanpa and his wife.
Sources in the village said, Chief Apanpa and his wife were whisked away by the kidnappers during the Tuesday night heavy downpour.
The whereabout of the kidnapped Village head and his wife still remain unknown as at the kidnappers are yet to contact any of their family.
Oyo State Police command Public Relations Officer DSP Adewale Osifeso in a statement on the incident, ” the incident happened very late on Tuesday 22nd of June,2021at Araro village, Bakatari in Ibadan.
DSP Osifeso added, “efforts are in top gear to rescue both victims and as well apprehend the abductors, please.”
