Gunmen invade Taraba community, kill farmer

Unknown gunmen Sunday morning killed a farmer, Usani Mikin who went to his farm to fetch firewood.

The deceased who was shot on his head and neck died instantly.

The ugly incident  happened around Wukari-Tsukundi road in Wukari local government area of Taraba State.

The Chairman, Wukari local council, Adi Daniel Grace in a  telephone interview confirmed the act.

“War is not what we should be thinking at this moment when there is so much hike on foodstuffs in the country.

They was a crisis last year and we all saw how devastating the effects was, which we are all still feeling the heat.

“This act of gorilla warfare, killing people in the farms should stop.

“I am pleading with whosoever that is behind those attacks.”

He added that the matter has been reported to the Wukari local government police division for investigation.

As at the time of filling this report, Police Public Relations Officer, State Command, ASP Reform Leha could not be reached for comment as he was not responding to his calls neither text message sent to him.
