Gunmen kidnap Ayade’s aide in Calabar

The director-general of Grand Evolution, one of the numerous support groups which campaigned for Governor Ben Ayade’s re-election, Mr Gab Adah, has been kidnapped.

Adah, who was also a member of Cross River Land Use Committee, was whisked away by gunmen in Calabar on Thursday at about 9.30pm.

 Reports indicated that he was kidnapped a few minutes after leaving a popular joint, Bricks Café, located at Parliamentary in Calabar municipality, where he had gone to relax.

A family source, who reviewed the incident, confirmed that Aday was taken away by gunmen at Efio-Ette roundabout, close to the cafe.

“He was driving home from Bricks Café which is near the Ayade power plant at parliamentary extension when he was double crossed close to Efio-Ette roundabout by gunmen and taken away,” he stated.

When contacted, the Cross River state Police Public Relation Officer, ASP Irene Ugbo, said the Police was yet to be formally informed of the incidents.
