Gunmen kill 1, burn 15 houses in Kaduna

Another set of unknown gunmen on Monday night attack a community in Southern Kaduna area of Kaduna state and killed one person and injured several persons.
The gunmen struck in Zangan, Kaura local government and burnt 15 houses in the village, while hundreds fled.
National president of Attakar Students Association, Raphael Soja, disclosed this to our reporter yesterday.
According to him, the gunmen stormed the village around 5pm and started carrying out the act before the arrival of security operatives.
Similarly, the Centre for Development and Rights Advocacy (CEDRA) has condemned the killing and demanded a declaration of State of Emergency in Southern Kaduna.
Spokesman of CEDRA, Dr. John Danfulani, in a statement, said: “The said barbaric and coward operation killed one person, burnt down settlements, and wounded many. The wounded are now in Kafanchan hospital receiving treatment from injuries, sustained. A similar incident was recorded on Friday 1st February 2014 in Manchok, in the same locality.
“The 1st February attacks sent a family of seven to the great beyond and bodies inhumanly mutilated in a butcher fashion. Unfortunately, this is happening in an area heavy covered by security forces whose number is far beyond the number required to cover the entire area.”
