Gunmen kill varsity lecturer in front of children in Anambra 

Gunmen, Tuesday morning, killed one Dr Anthony Eze, a lecturer with the Faculty of Education, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

Blueprint learnt that Eze was taking his children to school when the gunmen stormed at his residence and on sighting them, he allegedly attempted to flee but was rushed at and shot four times into his chest.

A source, who preferred anonymity, said the gunmen executed the act along the deceased (Dr Eze’s street) at Freedom Garden junction, behind National Light newspaper.

“We were here (Freedom Garden junction) this morning when Dr Eze was driving out of his house and suddenly a Toyota Corolla salon car pulled towards the entrance of his house and when he tried to drive back.

“They followed him and shot on his chest, emptying about four bullets into him before they drove away. We rushed him to the General Hospital Amaku and the doctor at the hospital confirmed that he was dead,” the witness narrated.

When contacted, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, promised to disclose details whenever the command was informed about the incident.
