Gusau poly rector bags leadership award

The Zero Tolerance for Social Immoralities Initiative (ZETSI) has conferred an award of excellence on the Rector, Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata Mafara, Zamfara state, Professor Tukur Adamu.

A press release issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Polytechnic, Malam Aliyu Damri, Tuesday, said the award was presented by the President of the initiative, Ambassador Razak Jeje at a special advocacy visit and presentation of certificate at the engineering complex of the polytechnic.

Ambassador Razak Jeje described the award as a recognition of the rector’s contributions to humanity, doggedness in the discharge of his duties with fairness, accountability, charisma and candour.

The president noted that the organisation was established to sustain new ideology in the training of active young men and women and usher in dedicated and committed service in curbing the menace of social malaise, including corruption, terrorism, cyber crime, prostitution, drug abuse, examination malpractice, religious bigotry, tribal sentiment, moral decadence, indiscipline and  class discrepancy among other  vices in Africa.

Responding, the Rector, Prof. Tukur Adamu affirms that the Polytechnic has been on the same page with ZETSI in terms of fighting social Immoralities such as examination malpractice and cultism as for over two good years, the Institution has not recorded any case of cultism and it has taken a drastic measure through examination committee to control any form of malpractice.

He expressed his readiness to partner with the initiative and other partners to fight social vices and develop the polytechnic to greater heights.
