Gwagwalada FIRS controller harps on value of planning for retirement

Tax Controller, Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) Gwagwalada, MSTO Ogunmola Mudasiru Alabi, has tasked FIRS staff to start planning for their retirement while in service.

He gave the advice during a send forth ceremony organised over the weekend to bid farewell to Elder Emmanuel Ameh, who retired from service.

Alabi called on staff to invest in ventures that would give them additional income to augment their monthly salary, just as he enjoined them to heed to the advice offered in the course of the programme.

The controller noted that life after retirement is another different thing entirely, noting that those who planned often encountered less challenges while out of service.

While responding, the celebrant, SMT Ameh, expressed gratitude to God and appreciated his colleagues who came from far and near to rejoice with him.

The retiree tasked staff of FIRS to work towards promoting the ideals of the Service just as he implored them to show commitment and dedication at all times.

The celebrant used the opportunity to appreciate the tax controller and the entire staff of Gwagwalada MSTO for the support and cooperation he enjoyed while in service just as he explained that he would continue to dedicate his life to serving God and looking after his family.
