Hajj 2022: NAHCON assures complete airlift of pilgrims by July 4

The Chairman National Hajj Commission (NAHCON), Alhaji Zikrullah Hassan, has assured that all pilgrims will be airlifted to Saudi Arabia latest by 4th July 2022.

The NAHCON chairman, who stated this Thursday while interacting with journalists in Abuja, hinted that most airlines have injected additional air craft with large capacity to meet up with the deadline.

Recall that the Saudi authorities had allocated 43,008 while NAHCON allocated 33, 976 to states and 9, 032 to tour operators.

Zikrullah Hassan disclosed that over 22, 000 out of 33,976 pilgrims have already been airlifted to the Holy land. While Blueprint checks revealed private tour operators had airlifted 4,000 out of the 9,000 seats allocated to them as of Wednesday.

According to the NAHCON chairman, the challenges experienced are as a result of short notice, delay in the release of operational framework from Saudi Arabia authority and flight fluctuations.

Alhaji Zikrullah, who assured that all challenges have been overcome, said most of the transactions for this year’s hajj were done through the E-Track, an online transaction which made it easy for pilgrims to generate their visa online.
