Hajj: Nigerian pilgrims warned against political activities in Saudi Arabia

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has warmed Nigerian Pilgrims against engaging in political activities during Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

In a statement by the Head, Public Affairs, Hajiya Fatima Sanda Usara, the commission warned pilgrims  that displaying banner or pamphlets with political undertones whether on Muna tents, buses, pilgrims’ accommodations is not allowed, adding that only Islamic literature is to be carried along.

The commission called on Islamic scholars to guide pilgrims on the matter.

The Commission advised the pilgrims to follow instructions of their respective pilgrims welfare boards or Tour Operator Companies in their own interest, admonishing them to abide by rules and regulations of Saudi Arabia, especially on crowd control.

The commission said, “In addition, pilgrims are cautioned to desist from joining any group or organization from any part of the world that intends to hold political/religious demonstrations or campaigns”.
