Handball: Kano Pillars lose ground to retain title

Defending champion Kano Pillars lost ground on Tuesday, in their quest to retain their title at the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League 2020 holding at the Indoor Sports Hall (Package B) Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

In a Matchday 11 fixtures Kano Pillars were defeated by third place Lagos Seasiders Boys 30-24 in a high tension soaked match.

In other results in Men category, COAS Shooters had to dig deep to defeat Kada Stars 31-30 while Rima Strikers were 32-27 victorious over Borno Spiders.

In the women’s category, Edo Dynamos extended their winning streak as they defeated Desert Queens 30-19 while Safety Babes ensured that they got an emphatic 36-28 victory over Benue Queens.

The last match of the day saw Imo Grasshoppers and Defender Babes played out a pulsating 26-26 draw.

Dikko Ibrahim of Lagos Seasiders Boys and Abdullah Favour of Defender Babes were voted the Most Valuable Players of the match day.
