Handball Nations Cup: Nigeria too strong for Kenya

Nigeria national handball team on Wednesday night defeated Kenya with an emphatic 30 – 14 victory in a loser’s match at the Africa Handball Nations Cup holding in Tunisia.

The men senior national team, apparently still livid about how they lost against Guinea, put Kenya to sword in the both halves of the match as Nigeria won the first half 15-6 and the second half 15-8.

Emeka Adigwe was voted player of the match.

Coach Rafiu Salami, who is very disappointed that the team didn’t attain their set goals of the competition, is quite happy that his team were able to win against Kenya despite they being a young but inexperience team.

“Well, I’m quite happy that we won our match but objectively I’m not happy because we didn’t get a slot for the world cup and then we tried to re motivate them for the loser’s stage, the second stage of the championship but they lost against Guinea”.

“The team was certainly not happy and we had to explain to them that every match is important and they responded by getting a well deserved win” He said

Nigeria will know their next opponent in the coming days.
