Happening now: Lagos residents scream, scamper for safety as ‘one million boys’ terrorise Egbeda, Igando, others

Despite recent arrival of special squad from the Inspector General of Police, residents of Lagos state, especially those living around Egbeda, Igando area are running for their dear lives following unabated attacks by some hoodlums popularly known as one million boys.

Blueprint gathered that the hoodlums in large numbers, comprising of hefty young boys and girls have been terrorising the areas steadily.

A resident of the area who pleaded anonymity said their lives are always in danger day and night as they are subjected to fear of the unknown.

“Our lives are in great danger day and night. We can’t even sleep. The worst part is that we don’t know what to do especially at this lockdown period everyone is not allowed to leave where he or she is.

“The few security men in our area disappear anytime these people are coming. Except for the resident youths that block them at some point, the situation would have been worse.”

Another resident said, “The terror group always write and threaten us. Once they are approaching, we lock up everywhere, but they attempt to break in.”

Effort to speak to Police authorities in the area hasn’t yielded fruit as text or calls put across have not been responded to.
