In line with the resolution of the Senate last week Wednesday, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu , is currently before the upper legislative chamber where he is being grilled on the worsening security situation in the country.
The Senate had in it’s resolution on Wednesday last week, summoned the Police boss to appear before it for detailed explanation on modus operandi of the community policing being planned to stem the rising tide of crime in the land.
The Inspector General of Police who arrived for the encounter at about 10:55 am, was ushered into the Hallowed Chamber of the Senate at exactly 11:00am but the Senators the the Senate Leader, Yahaya Abdullahi , called for closed door session which was overwhelmingly voted for when put to voice votes by the Senate President , Ahmad Lawan.
