Haulage association moves to provide employment to Jigawa citizens

The Haulage Association of Nigeria (HAN) recently established in Jigawa state is geared towards improving the revenue generation as well as raising the living condition of the citizenry across the state when fully taken off.

This was announced, Thursday, by the state secretary of the chapter, Alhaji Ishiaka Umar Sanda, during a meeting held at its state secretariat, Baba Cheichei complex, Dutse.

He said HAN will bring employment because more people will be recruited to work as revenue collectors in rural areas.

The secretary assured members that, when it fully takes off, there will be activities for every registered member.

“25 workers will be recruited from each of the 27 local government areas, who would be trained and engaged as revenue collectors,” he said.

He said the revenue to be generated by the members of the association from the local government areas will be brought to the state, before remittance to the national secretariat.

Sanda said in return, the national secretariat will be sending grants to the state which will be used to maintain the state office and members’ welfare.

Besides, Sanda said, members of the association will enjoy the sponsorship of the national headquarters to seminars, home and abroad, assuring that the state chapter of the association has at the moment strong people who stand as its sureties.

Sanda explained that, “All is set for the association to be launched soon in the state.”
