Health workers laud Osun gov on revitalisation of health sector


Osun state governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, has been commended by health practitioners for revitalisation of the health sector in the state.

The health workers during a visit to the governor acknowledged the commitment and decision of the government to revitalise the hospitals across the state.

The association under the aegis of Medical and Dental Consultant Association of Nigeria, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital (LAUTECHTH), Osogbo branch, also lauded Oyetola for the priority given to the welfare of health workers.

The chairman of the association, Dr. Rasak Akindele,  was accompanied by the Secretary, Dr Adeniyi Fasanu, the Treasurer, Dr Olufemi Ala, the immediate past Chairman, Prof. Segun Adebomi, among others.

Speaking, Akindele described Oyetola as a lover of health practitioners, and commended him for restoring and sustaining the payment of full salaries to workers.

He said the administration of Oyetola has shown a high sense of commitment to refining the health sector for greater productivity and development. 

“You have been a listening father whose passion for human and capital development cannot be over-emphasized.

“We have seen your zeal and commitment tailored to ensure an improved standard of living for all workers particularly health practitioners.

“We are proud to have you as our Governor. Your administration has started on a good footing and we are proud to identify with myriads of achievements recorded by your government so far.

“We appreciate you for maintaining regular salary payment to all categories of workers in the state as this gesture had geared up our morale to render our services diligently and professionally. 

“Our association has been so collaborative and co-operative with successive administrations in the state and we are ever ready to extend similar gesture to your administration to record all round success,” he added.

He appealed to the Governor to support the LAUTECH Teaching hospital so as to actualise its dream of rendering quality health services to the people.

Reacting, Governor Oyetola commended the leadership of the association for maintaining the tempo of quality healthcare delivery.

He sought for cordial relationship between the government and the association noting that his administration is looking for a strike-free tenure.

“I commend you for your activities at raising the bar of quality healthcare service in the state particularly on your commitment to maintaining the standard which LAUTECH Teaching Hospital is known for.

He promised that his administration will continue to support the association with a view to provide good healthcare services to the people of the state.
