Heavyweight clash: Ruiz vows to punch down Anthony Joshua again

Andy Ruiz has confirmed his rematch with Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia in December.

The Mexican-American fighter took to social media in the early hours of Saturday morning to affirm his intention to fight the Brit once again.

The rematch was announced earlier this month for December 7 in Saudi Arabia but Ruiz had claimed he had not signed for the bout with Joshua in the Middle East.

He told ESPN in Mexico: ‘I have not signed anything yet, we are negotiating everything.’

Asked about a Saudi Arabia contest, the 29-year-old replied: ‘They want to do it there but we have to see where we negotiate with my team. I would like it in New York again.’

But on Saturday Ruiz wrote on his Instagram page: ‘I’m excited to announce my rematch with Anthony Joshua.

In the first fight I made history and became the first ever Mexican/American heavyweight champion of the world.

‘I am grateful to Saudi Arabia for inviting me. I took it to AJ in the Big Apple and I’m looking forward to ending his career in the desert. Don’t miss this fight!’

Ruiz stunned the boxing world two months ago when he managed to stop Joshua in round seven and claim his three world titles.
