Chief Magistrate D. I. Adamaigbo of Evboriaria Magistrate court in Edo state has found a 52-year-old herbalist, Jacob Alonge, guilty for raping his daughter, Gift.
Magistrate Adamaigbo accordingly sentenced the herbalist to 14 years imprisonment without option of fine.
Adamaigbo said the counts would run consecutively
The convict reportedly committed the offence at their home in Ososo village, Akoko-Edo local government area of the state.
The pregnant daughter was said to have died in auto crash before the judgment.
The accident reportedly occurred on the Benin-Auchi highway while she was on her way to Benin to attend one of the Courts sitting.
The prosecutor had told the court that the convict turned his daughter to sex slave for several years.
The convict reportedly instructed her (the victim) never to sleep with any other man.
He (the convict) had reportedly procured abortion for his daughter and shaved her pubic hair.
Gift had become pregnant a second time when the matter came to public knowledge and he was arrested by the police and arraigned in court.
