Hitches as JAMB holds in Ibadan


This year’s Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) kicked off in most CBT centres in Ibadan amidst few hitches resulting in little delay in some centres.

Blueprint Correspondent’s visit to CBT centres at University of Ibadan, Ajibode, The Polytechnic Ibadan, Educational Advancement Centre, old Bodija, ETC Wofun, Sunshine, Oke Bola , Esther Osinkoya, Eleyele Sango road revealed that the examination started a bit late behind  the scheduled time.

For example, it was learnt that in most of the centres, the first batch fixed for 7am started between 7.15- 7.20 while that of 9am was delayed till around 9.30am.

At the Educational Advancement Centre, the exams supervisors were sighted running around to ensure smooth take off of the examination at about 7am as well checking the candidates for the examination.

In most of the centres, the candidates were mandated to drop all the belongings particularly GSM telephone sets, at the security post before undergoing through search on the way to the examination hall.

Security agencies including the private security guards at some of the centres were at the main entrance to the centre monitoring movement of the candidates.

After the first and second batches examination, some of the candidates expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the JAMB exams while others expressed mixed feelings on what  they blamed on the network in some of the CBT  centers.
