Hoodlums attack fire service officials in Gusau

Suspected hoodlums numbering  over 30 known as Yansara Suka that terrorised Gusau and its environs, yesterday attacked Zamafara state fire service officials while trying to put out fire at Hayin Malam Sani area in Gusau metropolis.
The State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Alh. Muazu Nalado, while briefing newsmen, described the incident as “madness and callous”, saying hoodlums surrounded the fire survive officials while on duty with sophisticated weapons and injured two of them, who now  receiving medical attention at Yariman Bakura Specialists Hospital, Gusau.

“Our ministry will not hesitate until we follow this case to later and ensure the culprits are brought to book, irrespective of their background in the state” the commissioner stated.
Nalado further tasked parents to always guide their children on morale and check their movement with their friends, saying “government will not fold its arms watching some bad eggs trying to disrupt the current relative peace the people of the state are enjoying without taken action against any one”.
He also appealed to security agencies, particularly the police, to conduct an investigations into the matter with a view to ensuring that the perpetrators were found and brought to justice to serve as deterrent to others.
When contacted, the Zamfara state Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP. Muhammad Shehu, confirmed the incident, saying already one Lawali Isyaku had been apprehended and was helping them with positive information about his friends’ hideout.
