Some 35 tractors, customs fatigue, and vehicles were recovered from hoodlums who looted public utilities and private business concerns in Yola, Adamawa state.
The miscreants, who stole the items during the #EndSARS protest, returned them after a 12-hour ultimatum given by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
The state Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adeyanju announced this while briefing journalists in Yola Wednesday.
He said 184 suspects were apprehended for breaking in and looting of both government and private warehouses and homes, with 54 others nabbed for violating the curfew put in place by the state government.
“So far 35 tractors, 22 hand tractors, 28 hand tractors hoes, ejection sprayers, 142 bags of fertilizers among, others have been recovered” through the effort of the police and other sister security agencies,” the CP said.
He listed other recovered items to include nine vehicles and 12 tricycles.
Adeyanju said they were still recovering more looted items and apprehending more suspects, just as he cautioned against purchase of looted items.
He warned that anyone found in possession of looted properties would be arrested and prosecuted as thief accordingly.
