Hospital to give free treatment to 10 IVF couples annually

The Nisa Fertility Center Kaduna is set to provide free In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) treatment for 10 couples every year as a way of adding value to life, Founder, Nisa Group, Dr Ibrahim Wada, has declared.
Addressing the grand opening of the Nisa Fertility Center, Kaduna at the weekend, Wada said having carried out the first invitro delivery in Gwagwalada 20 years ago, followed by several successful births, they saw the need to spread the hospital ‘s activities to other parts with Kaduna deemed vital for the expansion.
“We are here because there is too much bareness in our land.
Severalwomen, several couples are crying because of bareness.
This is our effort to help wipe away the tears from many faces.
There are many children suffering from sickle cell but today’s technology can prevent that scourge.
With the handy technology, AS and AS can marry each other and have babies that won’t be SS.
“We have soft heart for the poor, so 10 infertile couples would be treated technologically free of charge every year.
We are here to add value to life,” he added.
Kaduna state Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Paul Dogo Manya, who spoke on infertility in Nigeria, said infertility was prevalent in Nigeria, adding that many causes of infertility wereavoidable and self inflicted.
He was represented by the Deputy Dean College of Medicine, Kaduna state University, Dr Joel Adze.
“Infertility is when a couple mated for one year without pregnancy,” he said.
