Housewife commits suicide, police nab husband 

A housewife identified as Mrs. Cynthia Agho has reportedly taken her life in Benin City, Edo dtate capital.

Police sources said the sad incident occurred on July 7, 2022 at No.10, Omozese street, off Lucky Way, Benin City.

Mrs. Cynthia, 27,  was said to have committed suicide without leaving a note.

However, her bereaved husband, identified as Emmanual Omoru has been arrested by police operatives after speculation of suspected murder in Cynthia’s death.

Blueprint gathered that the woman’s body was found dangling in a rope on her neck tied to the ceiling fan in the couple’s apartment.

Spokesperson for Edo State Police Command, SP. Chidi Nwanbuzor, confirmed the incident.

According to Nwabuzor, “A case of suspected suicide, on July 7,  was reported to the control room of Aduwawa police station that a certain woman committed suicide by hanging at no 10, Omozese street, off street 2, off Lucky Way, Aduwawa Benin City.

“When the police visited the  scene of  crime, they met a certain woman who was later identified by her husband, one Emmanual Omoru as Mrs Cynthia Agho, 27, swinging in a rope tied to the ceiling fan inside in her bedroom.

“A stool was found under the ceiling fan, the corpse was photographed, lower down and evacuated to the police’s hospital morgue for autopsy. 

“Rumour is flying that it is a case of suspected murder and that is why investigation has commenced  to unravel the truth.”

“The husband of the woman is in the police custody undergoing investigation at Aduwawa police station and would be transfered to the police command for investigations.”
