How Army repelled Boko Haram attack on Yobe community – Official

The Nigerian Army says with the aerial support of fighter jets, Wednesday evening, it successfully repelled attack by the suspected Boko Haram insurgents on Babbangida, the headquarters of Tarmuwa local government council in Yobe state

Assistant Director, Army Public Relations Sector 2, Operation Lafiya Dole, Captain Njoka Irabor, disclosed this to Channels Television while confirming the attack.

“Immediately on receiving the information, we sent reinforcement and the attack was successfully repelled, we dealt with the insurgents seriously, Babbangida is now calm,” he said.

On number of casualties, he said the information was still sketchy but promised to brief journalists on every development.

A source from Babbangida who spoke anonymously as at time of filling in this report, said a fly bullet had killed a toddler and other two persons were injured.

He also said the alsoambulance belonging to Yobe state primary health management board which was said to have been forcefully seized by the insurgents was abandoned along Mafa Muri ward and taken back to
Babbangida.
