How I escaped assassination ambush – Sani Musa

Senator Mohammed Sani Musa representing Niger East Senatorial District at the National Assembly has given vivid description of how he escaped assassination ambush at his Minna residence on Sunday. 

Speaking in a telephone discussion with journalists, Senator Musa said he nearly fell into the hands of the assassins before making a u- turn to go to Abuja instead of having a moment rest at the Minna residence. 

He said, “I was coming from the coronation of the Emir of Kagara. I was tired, you know the road is very bad. We arrived Minna at about 5pm. I decided not to stay home in Minna but to go to Abuja. Immediately we turned back, I was called that my house has been invaded by people dressed in Army uniforms.”

According to him, “They said soldiers were at the house but they were not soldiers”.

He insisted that it was a planned attempt on his life, adding that, “if it was not planned, how could they have come to my house just as I was about to return home.”

Senator Musa thanked God for not allowing him to fall into the hands of the assaliants

Meanwhile, the police has turned a voult face on it earlier claim that the attack was not a planned attempt on the life of the Federal Lawmaker in Minna. 

The Police in its latest statement by the PPRO DSP WASIU ABIODUN in Minna, confirmed that there was an attempt by some hoodlums to kidnap the senator representing Niger East Senatorial Zone in the National assembly, Senator Sani Musa.

The Police which initially described the kidnap attempt story as “Fake news” said it’s new position followed investigation into the matter and revelation by one of those arrested suspects in connection with the incident.

“Reference to the Commands’ earlier press release on the unfortunate invasion of  Senator Sani Musa’s residence, Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District Niger State Police Command wishes to state that additional facts emerged in the course of investigation, as one of the suspects confessed further that the hoodlums led by the said Sherrif, presently at large targeted the Senator to his home in Minna”, the PPRO  said. 

According to him, the hoodlums suspected that he could be at home, having attended a coronation ceremony at Kagara on the same date and to possibly kidnap him.

He said, “Fortunately, the gang met his absence, broke into the house and ransacked the residence in the pretence of the purported search execution in the residence” 

Investigation, according to the PPRO is in progress, as effort was on top gear to apprehend other members of the gang
