How my father died, NECO registrar’s son opens up

Contrary to media reports that Professor Godswill Obioma, the late registrar of National Examinations Council (NECO) was murdered in his home in Minna, Niger state, the deceased’s son said that his father died as a result of brief illness. 

Prince Godswill Obioma II, son of the late Professor said in a statement on Tuesday morning on behalf of the family that his  father died after a brief illness.  

“Dear Sir, this is to formally inform you that my father, Prof. Godswill Obioma, the Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO passed to eternal glory yesterday 31/5/2021 after a brief illness,” he wrote.

Prince Obioma also notified the management of NECO and the Board as well as the staff members of the passing of his father due to a brief illness.

There had been reports suggesting that the late NECO registrar might have been strangled in his room on Monday evening in his apartment in Minna.
