How NSCDC seized bags of carnabis, motorcycles in Oyo – Commandant

The Oyo state command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has intercepted six motorcycles and 64 bags of cannabis.

Oyo state commandant of the corps, Alhaji Iskilu Akinsanya, stated this, Friday, while parading the 64 bags of carnabis and seized motorcycles to newsmen in Igboora.

He said the 64 bags of carnabis and the six motorcycles were apprehended at Ofiki River in Igbo Igbaye area of Igboora, Ibarapa central local government council of the state.

Commandant Akinsanya while handing over the cannabis to NDLEA, pointed out that the carnabis and the motorcycles were apprehended by men of the Rangers squad of the command on Thursday.

He said the drugs were smuggled into Nigeria by suspects now at large through forest from Cotonou, Republic of Benin and heading to Mologede near Abeokuta in Ogun state.

He emphasised that Oyo NSCDC agro Ranger squad specialises in raiding and assault mission, including mediation on farmers/Herders crisis works on credible intelligence information to arrest the exhibits, warning that  criminal elements should stay away from Oyo State, as “the state  is not home of crimes and criminality,” Commandant Akinsanya who commended  the people of Ibarapa central for their support for the agro ranger squad solicited  for more collaboration in order to nip the crime in bud around the state.

Commandant Akinsanya then, charged the people of Oyo state to follow the government directive on the covid 19 pandemic by staying safe with good hygiene and social distance, total compliance with curfew, including stay at home.
