Jigawa state Police command Wednesday said suspected armed robbers have shot dead an army officer, Major M.S. Isma’il and wounded another,Harisu Aliyu when they mounted a road block at Dundubus village of Dutse local governement area of Jigawa state on Sunday.
The force spokesman, ASP Lawan Shiisu, confirmed the incident to our correspondent in Dutse.
He said the shooting occurred on the Kano-Maiduguri Expressway last Saturday.
He stated further that the robbers attacked the officer and soldier, while they were travelling from Maiduguri to Kaduna.
He added that efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects. He said a full scale investigation to track down the hoodlums is ongoing.
