How skill acquisition impact corps members’ life – Rivers NYSC Coordinator


Corps members who seriously undertook the 10-day intensive training on skill acquisition on camp have been told that they have become enormously impactful as they are now well positioned to take the nation’s economic space by the storm. 

This much was said on Saturday by the State Coordinator NYSC Rivers state, Mr. Chinwendu Chukwu, when he declared closed, activities of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training on camp for 2019 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 corps members deployed to the Rivers State. 


Mr. Chukwu commended the corps members for their determination and commitment to learn and improve their economic values despite facing challenges of unconducive training environment, assuring them that the decision they made to acquire skill and empower themselves would be the turning point in their lives. 

He charged the corps members to build on the knowledge acquired on camp by intensifying effort to perfec it through post camp mentorship in the various local government areas where they were to serve. 

Mr. Chukwu urged them to seek guidance from their local government Inspectors when faced with challenges regarding their post camp mentorship. 

The Rivers State NYSC boss informed the corps members that funding institutions such as the Central Bank of Nigeria, Bank of Industry, Credit Direct and Sterling Bank are open to offer them interest-free loans to start-up their businesses or expand the ones they already have. 

Earlier, the SAED Officer NYSC Rivers State, Mr. D.O Eze, congratulated the corps members for their successful participation in the 10-day intensive training and appreciated them for their comportment and commitment to learn throughout the duration of the training. 


He thanked the State Coordinator for providing the SAED committee with the enabling resources and environment to successfully discharge its work. 
Highlights of the SAED closing ceremony included exhibition of products and inter-platoon competition. 
At the end of all the competitions, six platoons emerged overall 1st position, one platoon came 2nd and 10 platoon came 3rd.
