Husband, wife jerk up Covid-19 cases to 7 in Ebonyi

Ebonyi state government, Friday, recorded more coronavirus cases – a husband and wife that came into the state from Oji river, Enugu state.

The man, 26-year-old and the wife 19-year-old, both indigenes of  Ezza Inyimagu in Ekwulegu community,  Izzi local government area of the state were said to have tested positive of the pandemic which brought the total number of cases in the state to seven.

Governor Dave Umahi while announcing this on Friday in Abakaliki, the state capital said they came into the state where their samples were collected and they tested positive for Covid-19.

He however called on the people of the state to remain calm and be vigilant and ensure they dictate anybody trying to sneak into the state to enable such a person to be taking to isolation centre in the state for necessary action.

Umahi said, “By this evening, we will know the number of those who are on treatment that would have tested negative. So, we will subject them to another two set of tests and if they consistently test negative, then by next week, those of them undergoing treatment will be discharged accordingly.”
