I did not resign – Stores

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Zone One chairman in Kaduna state, Alhaji Hussain Central Stores, has denied the rumours that he had resigned his position from the party.

In a letter address to the state chairman of the party Retired Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada, in Kaduna Tuesday, the party stalwart urged party supporters to disregard the purported resignation.

He attributed the alleged resignation to the handiwork of mischief makers, whom he said were envious of his popularity and selfishly attempted to falsely profit from the chairman’s credibility built over the years.

According to him, the allegation resignation was the figment of imagination of the mischief makers, saying the story was “not true because he has done nothing wrong to compel him to take such action.

“After working tirelessly for the victory of the party in the 2019 general elections since its debut in 2015”, he said.

He expressed shock at the length some politicians could go to discredit others in order to gain cheap favour.

Further, Alhaji Stores explained that the meeting allegedly called by the stakeholder was illegal as he was the one expected to call the said meeting in his capacity as the zonal chairman of APC in zone one.

According to him, he was unfortunately bypassed by some self-seeking persons whose interest was to pull him down.

Alhaji Hussain said the allegation that he made uncomplimentary statement along with some other people against the party was not true, saying there was no forum that he made any statement which has now led to the uproar and the call on him to resign my office.

“Looking at my veritable long-term selfless service to our great party the APC, it is worth saying at this point that the stakeholders forum resolution forcing me to resign from my position contravened the provisions of Article 21 A, B and D of our dear party’s constitution 2014 as amended”.

According to him, “for the purpose of clarity the provision of the APC Constitution does not empower stakeholders to summon a meeting, preside over, adjudged or discipline any (alleged) erring member of the party without following the due process of law”, he remarked.

He described the action and the said resolution of stakeholders’ forum forcing him to resign from his duly elected position as null and void and should be disregarded for the interest of the party, he said.
