I didn’t collect N6bn from presidency to join PDP – Shekarau

Former Governor of Kano state, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, has dismissed speculations that he collected the sum of N6 billion from the presidency to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The former Governor in a text message to the Blueprint Tuesday night said “no matter how fast a lie is being spread, one day the truth will overtake it”.
He said he decided to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) purely on the basis of ‘injustice’ meted out to him and his supporters by the interim leaders of the party.

“I have carefully reviewed how APC emerged and discovered that the way it is, it will fail Nigerians like the PDP,” he said.
“Even the constitution of the party was tampered with, including the provision that Governors are to be leaders of the party in their states this was never discussed.

“All I want id for my creator to know that I am a disciplined and decent human being, I m not bothered about what people are saying about me.
“Some are even saying I collected the sum of N90 million to run my office as leader of ANPP merger group, which is completely false.”
