The immediate past chairman, Board of Trustees, People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Walid Jibrin has stated his continual support for the party and it’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Walid, who is a founding member of the main opposition party, noted that he will remain a member of the PDP and the party’s BoT for life and continue to give his best to support the party’s candidates for the 2023 general elections until Atiku becomes president and other PDP candidates achieve their aims.
According to Sen. Jibrin, “I will continue contributing based on my enormous experience throughout in this PDP and will continue in PDP until Atiku becomes the president of Nigeria in 2023. I hereby urge all PDP members and all Nigerians to come and join us to vote for Atiku. I want to assure you all that despite my resignation as BoT Chairman I still remain as a life member of BoT.
Sen. Jibrin also hailed the PDP state leadership for deeming him fit for the post of chairman of Nasarawa state presidential campaign council, noting that he would not disappoint and he would give his best for the party to progress and to help the party and it’s candidates emerge as winners of the general elections come 2023s.
“For appointing me the chairman of Nasarawa state presidential campaign council, I want to sincerely thank the state PDP chairman and his entire Exco, the elders, the caucus, and the entire PDP members in the state for giving me this very important assignment just after I resigned as the BoT chairman to protect and strengthen the party.
“This is considering my being in the PDP since its establishment in 1998 when I started strongly with the party ensuring that I never leave the party for a second to any other party from the year 1998 to date to any party. I have been a true party member right from the unit, ward, local government, zone, and state, where I served as party leader.
“I also served as national ex-officio, member NWC, deputy national financial secretary, national financial secretary, member NWC, BoT member, acting BoT secretary, confirmed BoT secretary, acting BoT national chairman, and finally BoT chairman. I have been working with all organs of the party,” Sen. Jibrin said.
