I ‘ll transform Owerri municipal -Ebere

The Interim Management Committee (IMC) Chairman of Owerri Municipal Council, Hon. Ebere Chukwuemeka,  has assured  the people of the municipal that he  will transform the area before he leaves office

The chairman who spoke to our correspondent said, “We have already re-roofed, re-painted the council buildings and completed the landscaping of the compound, with kerbs and flowers. And will embark on construction of 12 room toilets for the teeming population of the municipal staff behind the main building and car park to enable vehicles park in an organised form.

“We have restored light, bought a 500 KVA transformer stationed at Oha Owere Hall and reactivated the borehole. And some weeks ago, we had to purchase  chairman’s official vehicle, a Hilux van, because I saw none when I came in and about 20 Siena vehicles to tackle security in the municipal in collaboration with the Nigeria Police, Civil Defence and the army”, he said.

On the Owerri township stadium, he said the council has recovered the premises from those who converted it to school premises, adding that they have been given notice to relocate back to their former school compounds.

“We intend to construct Indoor Sports hall there, which would house tennis court, basketball pitch,handball pitch, and table tennis. We will also have tartan tracks for races and space for long jump etc.”
