I never endorsed of Peter Obi – Obaseki

Gevernor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state has denied media report  stating that he has endorsed the presidential candidate of  Labour Party (LP), Mr.  Peter Obi.

The governor in a statement issued Wednesday described the report as false and malicious.

The statement signed by Mr. Crusoe Osagie, the special adviser to the Edo state governor on Media Projects said, “The story is being peddled by detractors with ulterior motives, intent on misleading and misinforming members of the public for their selfish interest.”

Continuing, Obaseki stated that no statement to such effect originated from him.

He said: “The story is being peddled by detractors with ulterior motives, intent on misleading and misinforming members of the public for their selfish interest.”

The governor further noted that he has from the onset of the electioneering cycle been at the forefront of the campaign for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), its candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa.

The statement added that, “Obaseki, as the leader of the PDP in Edo state, will deploy his massive support base to ensure the victory of our party and its candidates in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.”
