I respect, hold Kogi monarchs in high esteem—Gov aspirant

One of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants in Kogi state, Dr Tim Nda Diche, has that he has great respect for the state’s traditional rulers.

Diche was reacting Wednesday in Abuja to a recent media report where he was quoted to have faulted the state’s monarchs over their reported endorsement of the state’s governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for second term.

He said as an indigene of the state, all the traditional rulers in the state are his fathers and promised to always seek their wise counsel if he becomes the governor of the state.

“As an indigene of Kogi state, all the royal fathers in the state are my fathers, and I hold them in a very high esteem. There is no reason for me to disrespect them.

“By the special grace of God, if I become the governor of the state, I will always seek their wise counsel in order to make our dear state the envy of some states’’, he said.

On why he is contesting the governorship ticket, he said: “My passion to run for this governorship is to grow and make Kogi state work better in order to create development and prosperity.

“One of my core cardinal missions is welfarism. Staff welfare, human welfare, prompt payment of salaries, training for human development, payment of pension and even creating prosperity in terms of empowerment, employment, appointment, and creating self actualization for our people will be my focus as the governor of Kogi state’’.
